Care Instructions
- Stained Glass -

Lead Disclaimer

  • The standard process for creating stained glass uses lead. Lead is only harmful if ingested or inhaled, so wash your hands after handling your artwork, and never lick your pieces.

  • Display your artwork out of reach of children and animals.

Displaying Your Piece

  • If you intend to hang your piece, please do not use suction cups! Art pieces should always be mounted on sturdy, stable hooks.

  • These pieces are meant to be displayed indoors, best by a window. Please refrain from hanging your artwork outside, as they are not designed to withstand the elements.

Cleaning Stained Glass

  • Each piece is thoroughly cleaned and waxed by hand to slow down the oxidation process that happens along the soldering lines of stained glass. Oxidation presents as white build-up and is unfortunately inevitable, but there are steps you can take to help prolong the life of your artwork!

  • For general upkeep, I recommend using a dry microfiber cloth to gently dust your piece and wipe away any fingerprints.

  • DO NOT use water or any cleaning agents (including Windex, or similar glass cleaner) to clean your work, as it can damage the patina.

  • If you would like to restore the shine to your piece, you can gently buff along the soldering lines and glass using a microfiber cloth. Please be extra careful with the amount of pressure used while doing this. It is glass, after all! You can even use a little bit of car wax (like Turtle Wax, Carnauba Wax, or a similar product) to re-shine the piece and re-apply a layer of protection to the glass. This process may stain your cloth, so please be advised.

  • Always wash your hands after handling your piece, and enjoy your refreshed piece of art!
